Can LG give us an estimated time on when the v07 upgrade will be released?

Everytime i put smart pic or face detection on my camera options, it goes back to default when i close it and reopen it. It would be nice if the phone saved these options.

I am as well curious about the estimated time on when the upgrade will be released.

Software releases are kept pretty quiet. Because the company doesn’t want to set false expectations for a launch and then have something happen and not launch it on time. If I hear something though I will get it on this thread. Thanks for your patience.

Can you tell us of what you know they are working on for this update or is that supposed to be held secret as well?

some things i want are new themes to chose from i would also like a slide bar to unlock the phone that would be easier and stop the phone from unlock its self.

-i have always wanted a setting that you could lock your text messages. so that would be very nice.
-of course VVM, slide to unlock, a faster response to the touch screen.
-and one more thing that i would love is a setting to go all landscape mode and hold the phone sideways. sort of like the lg versa.

i read somewhere that the v07 is supposivily coming halfway thru 2009, like june or july.
i dont think thats completely true though.

I agree with all the previous ideas, also with some new tools and utilities like in other lg phones such as the rumor. I would love to be able to use my phone in even more ways. I think the camera zoom and the saving of settings needs to come as well as an adjustment on the camera flash. I have practically blinded myself using it sometimes because of how bright it is and some times it will be so bright that you would not be able to see what is in the picture. Also some new themes would be great as well as maybe screen brightness adjustment, even though there is the automatic screen brightner it would be nice to have it manual as well. Some times my phone will even brighten and dimmer on and off for a few seconds if the light isnt steady surrounding me. Other than that, all these other ideas would be great

i just got the dare and i'm amazed that nobody at lg has realized that the videos are taken in full screen and played back in a much smaller screen resolution. not cool man!!! you have the technology and knowlege to blow us away with a phone that is as good as the iphone!!! but what are you waiting for give us the full screen!!!!! i cant stress it enough. the dare has a less bugy os than the blackberry and a split second faster than even the iphone. it's just obviously not doing as much as the iphone. but we as consumers want an all in one. not to put down the awsome watch phone cause it is awsome. but i want a dare with a little bit bigger screen, a full movie capable screen and mabey even a fm transmitter, cause i almost got the chocolate just for that feature... that is bad as, now make it all in one and im sold, after much research i found that you can put movies on here and they will look amazing, but the screen is just toooo small. i know alot of peaple were wanting the smaller phone for along time but its a new age and now its time for the pocket pc phone from LG..

How about just fixing the music player!!!
The mp3 player has so many documented bugs/annoyances and it's supposed to be
a main feature of the phone, so of my complaints:
- fix music synchronization so you don't have to use rhapsody(which no one uses!), direct windows media player support
- fix random songs feature - 200 songs limit
- improve playlist/song management
- fix album art/song id3 tags support - huge problem - the developers should test their code with couple of thousand songs and see how usable their app is before going to production!

Another idea is to add a lock shortcut so people can lock and unlock their Dare easily with a password from the main menu. I think we have enough ideas for both v07 and v09 upgrades!

I would like a firmware that actually lets me make use of the vcast SONG ID. There is DEFINATELY a bug in this firmware. I went through several phones when i first purchased the phone only to realize that I would have to turn the phone off and then on...then it would work. BUT!!....as soon as I would send/recieve a call, the song ID would NOT be able to ID any song and I would have to do the off/on thing again.....very very annnoying! I then upgraded to V05 and this fixed the problem with the songid. I was having trouble with my gps losing a signal and the verizon guy recommended that I upgraded to v06. I did this and it DID NOT fix my problem with the gps and now my SONGID problems are back to the way they were with the original V03 firmware.

Can we please get the songID to work. Im not a programmer, but the problem is related to connecting to a call...whatever happens when a call is connected must confuse/bug/corrupt the songid. This is one of the few extras from verizon that I could actually benefit from and it doesnt work. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!

Whenever I send a text message, I'll sometimes receive one at the same time. This causes the sending to fail.
I have V05 but I do not see this addressed as a fix in V06.

this is true. i have seen that alot of people want this feature and i must admit that it would be really nice.

I just created a profile just to say that threaded text messaging would be amazing, or at least save the sorting on my phone. Just to clear it up I will give you an example. Let's say I go to my inbox and set the sorting to sender, and then exit and when I come back to my inbox I wish it would stay sorted to sender, but changes back to date/time message is received. (It seems like a good, cheap, and easy way to semi fix threaded text messaging without having to go in depth programming). LG I want you to tell me if that is possible and if it is not then I want to know why


Also there is also bug that I have noticed while texting. If I am on word and text something like "what" and go to qwerty while the word is still highlighted and if I go back to word again and when I press the next button it inserts 0 and doesn't change the word.

v06 is my first experience with the phone and i love it but would also be nice to have:

- ( am i the only one that wants this? lol ) an auto corrective keyboard just in case of a typo
- threaded texts
- separate ringtones for different contacts
- slide unlock ( why oh why have a touch unlock )
- full screen playback
- different themes would be nice ( more of an option from either white or black )

ya i agree with you. a corrective keyboard would be very nice feature to have

well, sync with windows media player actually works when you install the USB driver AND the rhapsody (ughh, but that's verizon!), but the album cover should show up no matter what size, same for all the complaints about the IDv1,2 support, and playlist syncs, song order, number of songs...oh where is that v7 firmware!?!?!?

Hmm, for V07 I would like to see:

- Ability to add folders or groups to the "My PIX" section (I have tons of pics, and it is a hassle to scroll and try to find a certain picture) (if possible, folders in the "My Plix" or in the "My Sounds" section ect)

- Ability to lock certain parts of the phone (example: lock inbox, sentbox, drafts so you would have to enter your password to go inside)

- Ability to lock folders in the PIC/FLIX/SOUND section, so you would have to enter a passcode to even veiw the folder (if the pix locking gets enabled like i stated above)

- Voice enabled txt'ing (say the word and it types it for you)

- The ability to zoom-in while on high resolution mode on the camera

- The ability to zoom alot more while on the video camera

- Slide to unlock feature

- Flash-light mode (the flash on the camera, except the camera wouldn't be running and it wouldn't blink) (yes I saw the "take a picture of blank white, but, the pic doesn't focus the light anywhere... the flash does)

- Ability to add more contacts to groups

- Shortcut for locking the phone (instead of going into setting and then security)

- Accelerometer (how fast you're going) (this is probably considered an app tho)

- Distance meter (how far you've drove / walked) (this is probably considered an app tho)

- Improve battery life (or a feature to lower the phone's battery use)

- Ability to COMPLETELY remove the shortcut feature

- More picture editing features

- More video editing features (no offense, but the video editing sucks. again, no offense)

- Option to turn on/off spell-check while texting

Heh, sorry for the long list. I already think the Dare is amazing. But if some (or most?) of these features were added, it would be the perfect user-friendly phone... ever.

Also, it would be nice to have more apps... but I would MUCH rather have more features added rather than games and apps.

Is it possible to get an ETA on the update? I know you can't give out the specific date. But maybe month? Beginning of summer? End of summer? Start or school year?
