I am having problems using the LG840 Spyder II as modem. I downloaded the drivers and installed them. When I try to connect to the phone via dial-up connection, a message in the phone appears saying "Dial-up networking service is not supported". Can anyone help me set up cellphone as a modem for my laptop?

Since I can't see your see, I just need to ask if you have the Phone's USB mode set to USB Modem? Do you have all of the parameters you need from your ISP? You said that the PHONE is reporting that it can't be used in USB Modem Mode? I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Plan you are on... Do you have a Data Plan? I would call Customer Service for your carrier and see if they can assist.

I have included the link for my thread which has the steps I used to teather. I am a US Cellular customer. It may be that your carrier (Altell?) may not allow teathering.

I agree, it might be something that your Carrier is restricting.
