I've used this phone for 3 months now, and find it very frustrating.  It sometimes freezes, and the Verizon software on it takes too long to set up a new text message.

The touch screen is less sensative when you put a screen protector on it, but scratches very easily if you don't put one one it.

THis was a full retail mistake!!  I should have gone with a different phone.

    PHXPaul,

It may be considered too little too late, but it is worth noting that Verizon / LG released a new firmware for the Venus that made some major corrections to some of the notable issues that you have sited. To get your phone "flashed" is almost a surefire way to possibly turn around your perspective on the one of the initial steps in a new format of technology.

It's no excuse, but it's the unofficial early adopters program that allows the technical world to progress.

I like the LG phones, and my current phone is VX9800 (the V).    and my wife recently got LG Voyager.   BTW, why is Voyager not on the poll?     I am looking to upggrade my phone, and I LOVE the Voyager, but there is a massive peeve I have.

What's up with the Note field in Contacts?     I use that field extensively on my  VX9800 for things like addresses.    I will not carry more than one device, so this field is a must.    Could please someone explain to me why older 'the V' and 'enVy' have it, but neither Voyager nor Dare?   In fact, with VZ Navigator in, I would expect an addition of a dedicated address field with an option to navigate to it.  But for the time being, can make do with just the Note.

This is definitely a purely software thing.   Did LG firmly decide to ditch the Note, or is a software patch putting it back on the Voyager etc in the future?    If not, my next phone will be either Samsung Glyde, or one of the Blackberries. (Curve or Pearl)

I too, share your frustration about the Note field. I would store people's addresses in that field. A silly work around I have is to put their address in the email field such as 1234 ABC Avenue@lg.com. It works in a pinch.

Works for those with just one email, sure, but really, if these are to have any kind of a shot at being "communication devices", they better move forward with the info.. I played with Moto Q9c the other day, that thing has 10+ phone numbers, 4 emails, 3 addresses, Birthday, Anniversary, a number of IM numbers, and ah yes: Notes. Per Contact. I'll never fill out a third of those fields, but it is nice to have them available. Sure, it is a Windows Mobile PDA, but shouldn't there be a drive to close the gap, not widen it?

The 8700 was great but I had to return it 3 times for bluetooth issues. All over the internet people are complaining about the bluetooth problems on this phone.
My Dare is having much of the same problems. (Dare #3 as well.) We need firmware updates for the Dare. My 8700 is gone. Thank you - Darren

I cannot stand any LG phones! I am a Motorola person, personally. My job just got us all LG VX3400's which are completely obsolete in the technology realm. Heck, it's not even listed on this poll if that says anything. I cannot stand the fact you cannot silence the thing without having to turn it off! The lowest volume setting is pretty darn loud, if you ask me! There's only one Vibrate option and that setting is the Vibrate/Ring option and it's on HIGH volume (WTH???) Nice!

I have since found out holding down the * key will put the phone in "Manner Mode", aka Vibrate mode.  Glad LG was thinking when they added this helpful tidbit of information to the User Manuals in a place where it could be found by the average joe, normal-line-of-thinking person.

    Grins....

Then why even bother responding to the poll? If you don't like LG phones, don't read the LG messages.

Hey Axl, Smarty, or whatever you like to call yourself,

I was researching the LG community to find an answer to my issue with the phone.  I posted my How To question in the LG community in another forum, asking how to silence the phone but before I found that one, I saw this poll and just had to remark.  For your information, I was told how to do what I wanted to do shortly after posting.  Nice of LG to actually put the instructions in the manual in a place which can be found by keywords such as "Vibrate" or "Silence" in the index or ToC.  They have the instructions in a place called, "Manner Mode" and any person never having dealt with an LG phone would never know to look for something with that label.  Even after reading that page in the manual, it still was about as clear as mud what they were talking about.  The response I got from an experienced user helped me out perfectly.  I saw this poll when I was still pretty irked about not being able to silence my WORK phone still, which explains my irritated answer.  Since then, have I posted another complaint?  No, if you need to be told the answer.  So do me a favor, if you are not going to help someone, why do YOU bother posting?  If all you are going to do is be a jerk with a smart remark, then keep it to yourself.
