You cannot use the SD card to load ringtones onto your phone. You must either download them through the media center/GIN/Dashboard/Whatever, or use 3rd party software such as Bitpim, which you can read more about: here...

Or the most simple technique is to email them to @vzwpix.com and when they arrive you can choose to "save as ringtone".
