I have the VU. When I use the camera and then download and view my pictures, the date(in the properties- I use Picasa3) is shown as in 1980. The calender and time on the phone are correct. Shouldn't the time stamp on the photos be the same?

Are you talking about the names of the pictures, which are normally named by date? For example pictures taken on the 18th of January 2010 would be named 180110.jpg... Or are you referring to the "Time Stamp" on the photos? Both the name and the time stamp should be taken from the Phones internal clock. If that is set correctly I am puzzled why the date wold off by so much. One thing to try is to pull the battery out of your phone for about a minute and put it back in... This will force the Phone to collect new information from the tower when you power back on... So the date and time should be updated... let me know.

Tried your advice, but same problem. I just realized, this only shows up in Picasa When I click on Properties. The date in Windows Explorer etc is OK. So, perhaps it is not a camera problem. Thanks for your help.

Maybe the date problem is with the picasa for as what yo had mentioned when you check on the properties it indicates the correct date

I have Picasa 3 on my system but hadn't payed much attention to the dates. I just looked through some of my folders and found that Picasa has some of my pictures dated "Feb 12th, 1980" Even though the folder date is correct "2009-05-11..." Looking at the "Properties" of each picture, they are dated correctly as well.
