While on the phone I have been getting brief dial tone sounds. It happens for only a second every 3 minutes or so but is annoying because it is pretty loud.

Under "Phone Settings" is an option called "Minute Minder" check to see if that is turned on. It's purpose is to let you know how long you've been on a call, which might be important if you were "Roaming." Let me know if that's not it.

I did have the minute minder turned on. I thought it might be a good idea to turn it on when I got the phone but clearly it was a bad idea. It would make a dial tone and then the phone volume automatically turned up, just about killing my ear drum! I think this should fix it but I'll let you know if it doesn't. Thanks!
